Solidarity Group Lending Officer

Background

DCB Commercial Bank Plc is a fully-fledged retail and commercial bank in Tanzania. The bank offers banking services to Individuals, Microfinance, Small to Medium sized Businesses (MSME), as well as large corporate clients. DCB Bank has a wide branch network of over 9 branches, over 700 DCB Wakala Agents, and over 280 Umoja switch ATMs serving over 3 million customers across the country. We are currently seeking qualified candidate to fill the role of Solidarity Group Lending Officer. The SGL Officer should be attentive to details, decisive, and possess excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Previous working experience in microcredit projects is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Growing quality asset portfolio and liability through retention of existing customers and recruitment of new customers.
• Identifying potential areas for opening new centres and maintaining high performance in line with the budget.
• Ensuring complaints are timely logged and auctioned, tracker is maintained, and resolution and respond to client is done within reasonable time.
• Building relationship with customers across all centres in order to get viable information for monitoring and control of your portfolio.
• Managing the implementation of all processes and procedures as stipulated in the bank’s policies and manuals.

1. Finance Director

Position: Finance Director

Responsibilities: As the Finance Director, you will be instrumental in guiding the financial strategy of the bank, ensuring optimal financial performance and regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities will include:

• Advising senior management and the board on fiscal control and profitability.

• Presenting and interpreting financial reports to management and stakeholders.

• Ensuring compliance with tax laws and other regulatory requirements.

• Overseeing the development and execution of the financial strategy for the bank, including capital and balance sheet management.

• Collaborating with various departments to minimize costs while maximizing investment returns.

Qualifications and Experience:

• University degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Accounting, or related fields.

• Professional accounting certification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA/CFA/ICMA).

• Minimum of 12 years’ experience, with at least 5 years in a management role in a financial institution.

• Financial and treasury management experience in Tanzania, including exposure to international financial systems.

2. Direct Sales

Position: Direct Sales

Locations: Dar Es Salaam, Dodoma

Responsibilities: In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving sales and customer acquisition for the bank. You will be responsible for:

• Acquiring new customers through various channels such as appointments, referrals, and door-to-door service.

• Registering customers to DCB’s Digital Platforms and educating them on self-service options.

• Ensuring all opened accounts comply with KYC (Know Your Customer) standards.

• Participating in sales campaigns and events to promote the bank’s products and services.

• Identifying and pursuing sales leads, upselling, and cross-selling bank products.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

• Experience in direct sales of bank products is a plus.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Computer literacy and ability to work outside office settings.
