DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tie and untie the ropes of the boat/ferry;

Ensure the safety of passengers and vehicles inside the boat/ferry;

Arrange passengers or vehicles in the boat/ferry;

Operate and guide the boat/ferry;
-
Maintain the boat/ferry logbooks;
-
Ensure that ferry engines are in good working condition;
-
Check fuel and other necessary equipment for operation.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Employed applicants must have completed Form Four (Ordinary Level of Secondary Education) and have skills in operating and maintaining boats/ferries, certified by Dar es Salaam Marine Institute or any other government-recognized institution, with not less than two years of experience; and must have completed six months of training in life-saving at sea, swimming, and arranging people and vehicles in boats/ferries.
