the Ministry of Health (MOH), in collaboration with the President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG), launched the Integrated and Coordinated Community Health Workers Program in January 2024. This national initiative seeks to standardize and professionalize the CHW cadre through improved nomination and selection criteria, structured training and certification, and a functional system for performance-based incentive payments. It also aims to deepen community engagement by involving local populations in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community health interventions, thereby fostering ownership and accountability.
