About TOAM
Tanzania Organic Agriculture Movement (TOAM) is a membership-based organization registered in May 2005 under the NGO Act of 2002, with headquarters in Dar Es Salaam. TOAM coordinates and promotes the development of organic farming among farmers, distributors, and consumers through networking and information distribution. Also, TOAM serves as the Secretariat of the implementation task force (ITF) for the National Ecological Organic Agriculture Strategy (NEOAS) implementation.
TOAM is seeking a highly motivated and experienced NEOAS Coordinator to lead the coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of NEOAS activities at the national level.

- Duty Station: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
- Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed-term (renewable based on performance and funding)
- Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO), TOAM
Purpose
To lead and coordinate the strategic implementation of the NEOAS, positioning ecological organic agriculture as a cornerstone of sustainable development for Tanzania’s agriculture sector. The coordinator will serve as a pivotal leader in mobilizing stakeholders, ensuring effective policy integration, resource mobilization, and monitoring progress toward transformational outcomes for farmers, markets, climate resilience, and environmental sustainability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in leading policy implementation, multi-stakeholder coordination, or sectoral reforms, preferably in agriculture, environment, or rural development.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-level strategic coordination, policy advocacy, or program management within governmental, international, or civil society contexts.
- Education: Advanced degree (master’s) in agricultural sciences, food systems, environmental policy, development studies, political science, or related fields.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and facilitation.
- Proven ability to navigate complex policy environments and negotiate diverse interests.
- Sound analytical skills with experience in designing and implementing M&E systems.
